Welcome – I’m Tania.

I’m a surface pattern designer based in the South African Lowveld, right on the edge of the Greater Kruger. It’s a place where wildlife roams freely and nature is part of everyday life — and it’s this wild beauty that feeds my creativity.

By profession, I work in digital marketing, and I still enjoy the strategy and structure that come with that. But over time, I felt a pull toward something more creative and expressive — something that allowed more freedom, more play. That’s how I found surface pattern design.

What began as a quiet curiosity slowly became a passion. There’s something so fulfilling about the process: being inspired by what’s around me, sketching those ideas by hand, then digitising and turning them into repeat patterns. Each step draws on different skills, and it keeps me learning and creating in ways that feel really energising.

Living out here, I’m surrounded by constant inspiration. Tortoises wander through the garden, giraffes peer over the trees, and warthogs make regular appearances. It’s these moments — quiet, sometimes unexpected — that spark many of my ideas. My work is a way to hold onto those encounters and share them in a way that feels personal and honest.

Design, to me, is about expression, not perfection. Through my patterns, I hope to bring a little piece of the African bush into your home — something made with care, and rooted in the rhythms of the wild.
