Every Design Begins with a Moment of Slowing Down

Living in Hoedspruit, on the doorstep of South Africa’s Greater Kruger region, I’ve come to appreciate that nature doesn’t rush. The most memorable moments happen when you pause—watching wildlife wander past, noticing the call of a favourite bird, or taking in the colours and textures of the African bush.

Those moments are where my designs begin.

I’m an artist inspired by the African bush, creating modern safari-inspired textile patterns, illustrations, and thoughtfully crafted products that celebrate the wildlife and landscapes of Southern Africa. Each collection begins with a real moment in nature and is designed to capture the feeling of being immersed in the wild.

Surface pattern design brought together my love of drawing, storytelling, and the natural world in a way that felt completely right. Today, I combine traditional sketching with digital techniques to create original artwork that reflects the places and experiences that inspire me most.

Just as important as the design itself is how it comes to life. I work with small South African businesses to print and create my products, celebrating local craftsmanship and supporting the talented makers who help transform each idea into something tangible.

Whether you’ve experienced the magic of Africa for yourself or simply feel drawn to its wildlife and landscapes, my hope is that my work brings a little piece of the bush into your everyday life—and reminds you of the moments that have a way of finding a place in your heart.
